Training for the rangers of the Agency of Protected Areas

Rangers of Machakhela, Mtirala, Kobuleti and kolkheti Protected Areas passed second stage of the training Violations and next react at the Protected Areas of Georgia. 

Meeting with the population of Pshavi-Khevsureti

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas held a meeting with the population of Pshavi.
The meeting aimed survey’s results introduction to the local population, which had been held in Pshavi-Khevsureti. As Lasha Moistsrapishvili   mentioned, establishment capacities of protected areas at Pshavi boarders had been determained as a result of the survey. 

Visit in Czech Republic

Representatives of the Agency of Protected Areas visited Czech Republic by the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Czech Republic and Czech Development Agency in the frame of the project Imereti Region Development – Imereti Caves Protected Areas Development II.

Agency of Protected Areas transmissed existing Visitors’ Centre part and tourist infrastructure at Lagodekhi Managed Reserve territory. 

Agency of the Protected Areas celebrated Earth Day

It has to be mentioned that 22th of April is a memorable day in the history of the Agency of Protected Areas. On 22th of April, 2003 year, Parliament of Georgia passed a law on designation and managment of Tusheti, Batsara-Babaneuri and Vashlovani Protected Areas’, according to the above, Georgia enriched with eight new protected areas and three strict nature reserves had been expanded.

Infrastructural Works

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili inspected implemented works together with participants of the UNPD’s workshop program Ecosystem based Adaptation toward Climate Changes. 

Cooperation memorandum

Cooperation memorandum had been held between Agency of Protected Areas and International Black Sea University. 

Fly fishing competition at Mtirala National Park

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili visited Mtirala National Park, where he attended fly fishing competition. Winner of the competition became Lasha Matua, to whom symbolic presents were transferred.

18th International Tourism Fair

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili attended opening ceremony of 18th International Tourism Fair.

Racha and Erusheti Protected Areas’ establishment

At hotel Radisson Blu Iveria, project presentation had been held about Racha and Erusheti Protected Areas establishement.

At Kolkheti National Park illegal fishing fact had been revealed

Kolkheti National Park’s Zugdidi region’s rangers revealed illegal fishing fact. Electric shock device, two accumulators, seed-grid and boat had been charged.

Greening Action at Ajameti Managed Reserve

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili took part in greening action.

Grant Agreement with Caucasus Nature Fund

Caucasus Nature Fund allocated 662 500 Euros to Protected Areas of Georgia.
