The primary objective of the project, "Imeretian Oak Restoration in Ajameti Managed Reserve," is to plant approximately 5,000 Imeruli oak saplings in an area of up to 2 hectares. The planted saplings will receive regular care and monitoring for a period of two years.

The memorandum was signed by Davit Iosebashvili, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, and Mariam Jorjadze, the Executive Director of the Biological Farming Association "Elkana”

The collaboration between the Agency of Protected Areas and BP Georgia aims to strengthen the sustainable development of the protected areas system. It focuses on biodiversity conservation, enhancing the potential for ecotourism, and improving the socio-economic conditions of the local population residing near the protected areas.

The Agency of Protected Areas plays a crucial role in forest maintenance and restoration efforts within Georgia's protected areas. One of its key priorities is the conservation of the Imeretian oak in the Ajameti region.
