The esteemed Agency of Protected Areas, operating under the purview of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing ecotourism and bolstering ecotourism infrastructure within Georgia's protected regions.

Thanks to the generous support of esteemed donor organizations, numerous projects are currently underway. These initiatives encompass the restoration of existing infrastructural facilities and the construction of new amenities, collectively elevating the travel experience to our nation's unparalleled national parks.

Within the highly sought-after Mtirala National Park, the rehabilitation of the Tsivtskaro tourist shelter nears its completion stage. Starting from the forthcoming tourist season, visitors will be able to relish their stay in the refurbished cottage, offering a delightful respite after exploring the breathtaking natural beauty of the area.

Similarly, the construction of a ranger's cottage within the esteemed Machakhela National Park has reached its conclusion, ensuring that the dedicated park rangers can fulfill their responsibilities in a comfortable environment.

Moreover, efforts are currently focused on the final stages of arranging a ranger's cottage and related infrastructure in the Kharagauli section of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, specifically within the Sakondria and Marelis ranger areas.

Grateful acknowledgment is extended to the invaluable financial support provided by the esteemed Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), with investments already reaching an impressive sum of 222,000 GEL.

During the present year, plenty of new ecotourism spaces have been inaugurated and renovated within Georgia's protected areas. Anticipating the tourist season of 2023, the Agency ardently looks forward to presenting an array of captivating projects and innovative undertakings, sure to captivate the imagination of our esteemed visitors.
