The Chairman of APA visted Vashlovani National Park

On June 18th, 2013, the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, Mr. Rati Japaridze, visited Vashlovani National Park for monitoring purposes. The day before his visit a fire broke out on the territory of Vashlovani, which was immediately extinguished by the committed work of park administration staff. This was the second time a fire has accidentally broken out throughout the season. Mr. Japaridze went to see the damaged area and thanked the park employees for their outstanding work.

Together with the Agency Chairman, donor organization Kartu Group visited Vashlovani. The visit was focused on getting acquainted with the National Park and overviewing the existing infrastructure. The plan to rehabilitate accommodation spots, so called bungalows, located within the park boundaries has been developed. At the same time, it was decided to build a tourist observation point from which the impressive views of the Vashlovani Park district will be offered.
