March 21st is International Forest Day, and March 22 is World Water Day. In connection with this, eco-educational lectures-seminars were held for schoolchildren in the Agency of Protected Areas.
Students received information about the goals of creating protected areas, the biodiversity of Georgia, as well as the importance of implementing a sustainable management system of forest and water resources in protected areas.
42% of the area of protected areas are covered by forests, whose maintenance and restoration, and protection of biodiversity is the main priority of the Agency of Protected Areas.
It should be noted that the Agency of Protected Areas, within the framework of eco-educational activities, conducts a number of important events, the purpose of which is to raise the awareness of the population in environmental directions.
