Local population living in the vicinity of Erusheti National Park Embark on Informative Tour.
In a collaborative effort with the Agency of Protected Areas under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Species Conservation Center "Nacres" orchestrated an enlightening tour for the neighboring communities residing close to Erusheti National Park.
Residents living in the vicinity of Erusheti National Park have reason to celebrate as the park's establishment in 2021 opens new avenues for community involvement. Recently, event attendees gathered to gain valuable insights into the park's objectives and goals as part of the protected area system. The informative session covered essential topics such as the park's construction, allowed and prohibited activities within the protected area, and exciting opportunities for active participation in the development of ecotourism initiatives. The event aimed to empower and engage the local community in the conservation and sustainable development of this pristine natural treasure.
Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park had an informative session. Participants talked about the opportunities and benefits that the park provides. Following receipt of the material, the meeting participants stated their desire and readiness to collaborate with the management of the Erusheti National Park in the development of ecotourism services.
The "Community Ranger" initiative is being carried out by the "Nacres" Centre for Biodiversity Conservation & Research in collaboration with the Agency of Protected Areas and the Erusheti National Park, with financial support from the American Embassy Alumni Grant Programme. The initiative will run for six months, ending at the end of November.
