Kazbegi National Park’s Administration and Visitor Center's Construction has been started

Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Gigla Agulashvili together with Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Davit Markozashvili laid the foundation for the construction of Kazbegi National Park Administration and Visitors’ Center.

Gigla Agulashvili emphasized Visitors’ Centre’s importance. According to the Minister’s speech, visitors will have an opportunity to get detail information about park’s biodiversity and tourist services.

An exhibition space, tourism information center and administration will be arranged on place.

Construction is being implemented by the Agency of Protected Areas together with the support of  German Government and German Development Bank (KfW). The project will be ensured by Consultative Group (GFA). Project’s budget is 793 450 Gel.

The event was attended by the Chairman of Georgian National Tourism Administartion Giorgi Chogovadze,  Dr. Klaus Veigel - Director KFW South Caucasus Regional Office, representatives of local government and other donor organizations.

The Agency of protected Areas actively preparing for the summer tourist season. It is planned to spend 6 737 500 Gel on infrastructure projects’ implementation.
