 Information about the activities planned by the Kolkheti Fund

 On May 6, 2008, an agreement was made between the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and the Black Sea Terminal, according to which the latter must implement compensatory measures as defined in the Environment Impact Assessment of the railway line built to connect to the Kulevi Terminal.

In order to carry out the above mentioned measures, the Kolkheti Protected Areas Development Fund has been established. Financial resources of the fund are directed towards infrastructure development, restoration, rehabilitation, monitoring and research work in Kolkheti National Park and Kobuleti Protected Areas.

Furthermore, the development fund announces tenders for the procurement of the following types of services and products:

Kobuleti Protected Areas:

1.1. Designing of the project for visitors center, tourist trails and a watch tower – December, 2013;

1.2. Construction works for the visitors center, tourist trails and a watch tower – 2014;

1.3. 2 units of SUV cars.

Kolkheti National Park:

1.1. Designing of the project for the construction of the yard of administrative building such as roadway, fence, illumination, 1 rangers house, 2 boat wharfs – November, 2013;

1.2. Implementation of construction works for of the yard of administrative building such as roadway, fence, and illumination, exterior of a store house with wooden elements – November, 2013;

2.1. Designing of the project for the Riv. Pichori coastal eco tourism infrastructure, such as 1 boat wharf – September, 2013;

2.2. Implementation of construction works for the Riv. Pichori coastal eco tourism infrastructure, such as 1 boat wharf.

3.  Arranging of defective premises act for the visitors center and the administrative building;

4. Implementation of reconstruction works of the visitors’ center and the administrative;

5. Building of a boat wharf on Riv. Kaparchina;

6. Establishing of a pheasant farm – 2014;

7. Installing of a new shelter for bats along the Kulevi Terminal;

8. Building of a Rangers’ Shelter – November 2013;

9. Building of an archeological museum at the visitors’ center;

10. Purchasing of 1 unit of 12+2 seated swamp boat – 2014;

11. Purchasing of 1 unit of boat engine with necessary components;

12. Purchasing of 10 units of kayaks (plastic-nylon) – 2014;

13. 7 units of 4 wheel-drive SUV cars - already announced;

14. Purchasing of necessary equipment for the ornithological works – October, 2013;

15. Designing of the monitoring program for the Cetaceans of the Black Sea – Second half of September, 2013;

16. Creating of wildlife monitoring plan;

17. Creating of biodiversity data E-program – October, 2013;

18. Designing of activities for the bird monitoring (counting) center – September, 2013;

19. Recording of nesting birds – November, 2013;

20. Recording of wintering waterfowls – November, 2013;

21. Assessment of flora existing on the territory adjacent to the Kulevi Oil Terminal and designing of botanical conservation plan – 2014;

22. Implementation of monitoring of the hydrological regime – September, 2013.
