During a working meeting held within the framework of the "Save the Nature - Georgia" project, the National Species Recovery Plan was a key topic of discussion.

Representatives and experts from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, relevant agencies, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations gathered to address the issues related to the plan.

The National Species Recovery Plan, designed to guide the planning and implementation of recovery measures, follows the principles outlined by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It encompasses the selection of relevant species from various groups, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and higher plants.
The meeting participants shared their opinions and recommendations on the methodology and criteria for species selection and prioritization, contributing to the preparation of the national species recovery plan.

The "Save the Nature - Georgia" project, initiated in 2021, is being implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The project aims to enhance the sustainable management of natural resources in Georgia, promote biodiversity protection and restoration, improve air quality, and strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry and its affiliated agencies.
