A working meeting was arranged in Guria regarding the designation of a national park

Representatives of the Agency of Protected Areas and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) introduced the ongoing work related to the establishment of a national park in Guria to the local media, non-governmental organizations, and other interested parties. At the end of the meeting, a video film prepared within the framework of the project was shown.

The establishment of the Guria National Park aims to tackle the challenges in the Guria forest landscapes, in particular, the damage caused by human impact, to protect biodiversity and preserve the ecosystem;

The creation of a national park will help attract tourist flows to the protected areas and will give the local population the opportunity to generate additional economic benefits.

The project to establish the Guria National Park is being implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Agency for Protected Areas, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), with the financial support of the Swedish Embassy and the active involvement of local authorities.
