A new eco-educational trail in the Lagodekhi Protected Areas

A new eco-educational trail in the Lagodekhi Protected Areas.

This trail incorporates a range of visual materials to provide information about the park's significant species. Visitors can explore the biodiversity, ecosystems, flora, and fauna of Lagodekhi through these engaging visual resources.

The trail covers a distance of 1 kilometer and takes approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete. It features up to 12 activities and is designed to cater to the interests of preschoolers and schoolchildren, offering an educational experience alongside the various hiking and adventure destinations within the protected areas.

Promoting ecotourism development while preserving the environment and biodiversity is deemed crucial. Projects like this play a vital role in raising awareness among young people about nature conservation and forest stewardship. Additionally, such initiatives provide economic benefits to the local population. This is the policy of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, which is successfully implemented by our Agency of Protected Areas", - noted the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Iuri Nozadze.

The development of the Lagodekhi trail was made possible through the project "New Life to Lagodekhi Trails," which received support from BP Georgia, its oil and gas partners, as well as USAID/USDO ITAP NPE program, by Care Caucasus.

"Useful and interesting information arranged on the trail is interactive and fun for visitors of all ages, which further arouses in them the desire to learn about and protect the nature of Georgia. I would like to gratefully note that over the past two decades, cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Agency of Protected Areas allows us to facilitate the implementation of important environmental projects in Georgia," said the Vice President of BP Georgia, in charge of communication and external relations in the Caspian region.
